Newsletter: Our years review…
We like to keep our students super busy at the Fusion Arts…
Term 1 was a busy term settling our students back into class, fitness and technique! We love training our kids and pushing them to the best of their ability. We signed off the term with our Winter Showcase at Dubai’s Global village. Many thanks to the fabulous organisers who ran a tight show and we were very privileged to be a part of it! We showcased Ballet, Contemporary, Modern theatre and Hip Hop on this super community stage. Likewise; for our Performers who took to the stage at the Westin Abu Dhabi. A fantastic festive family day was organised, full of entertainment and winter fun. We were delighted to be involved and our students did a wonderful job of entertaining the crowds. Another very proud moment and a super fun day!
Thanks always for the parents support at these events, getting our kids to the practices and supporting the events yourself. We couldn’t do it without you! The New year hit before we knew it… Term 2 was action packed with exams, competitions and Show practice … Our Mirdif students were straight into performances at Superkids annual Charity event, held at Irish village on Saturday January 20th. They did an awesome job and helped raised money for a super fabulous cause.
Next up was…Desert Dance on February 22nd and 23rd Desert Dance is the only dance competition in the Middle East, spreading the word on the benefit dance brings. We have been involved in Desert Dance since its founding year by the very wonderful and inspiring Ms Emma Dawson. As always, we look forward to choreographing for the founding school Uptown Midrif and also one of the lead sponsoring schools Dubai College. As the judges deliberate the awards, we clear the stage for our very own Fusion Arts performance. The theme of Desert Dance this year was ‘Elements’. This year’s Desert Dance; we won ‘best use of theme’ for our Dubai college piece and ‘best choreography’ for our Uptown piece.
Fusion were delighted to be invited to perform at the UAE teen awards this year. An amazing event celebrating Coaches and Teens in sport. Our Teens performed Hip hop and Modern Theatre at the event held at Arabian Ranches golf course. We also enjoyed our own little coffee party at Starbucks after We were super proud of this year’s Ballet, Tap and Modern Theatre Examination Candidates. Our RAD and ISTD students work extremely hard all year round on their technique and syllabus work and we are delighted with the 100% pass rate with High Merits and Distinctions. Congratulations team Fusion for your amazing achievements.
Some of our freestyling students took to the stage to support the UDO Dance competition hosted and run by the fabulous Dance department at Gems Silicon Oasis. Miss Suzi was delighted to be invited to Judge at the new event and is excited to also support and watch the Adrenaline team perform at the World Championships in Glasgow in August. In between all this, all our classes were working hard on preparing for our annual showcase. This years Theme was a celebration of Music from the past to present... Entertaining us through the decades of music. Some of the Modern day remixes were shown in their original release, some the modern day. A true celebration of music, genres and flavours; as we rewind back in time to present day.
“Remix and Rewind” was performed at our Theatre in Dubai College on May 12th and at American school of Dubai on May 19th. Fusion Students did an amazing job! Again, we are blown away with the progression year in and year out. Thanks again to our parent support. We are always so grateful you choose Fusion Arts for your son’s and daughters Performing Arts training. Many thanks to our Venues also for another fantastic year. We look forward to seeing you all in September. Many Thanks Team Fusion
